Photograph by Dudley DanaContemporary American Landscape Painter Nicholas Oberling teaches oil painting classes, landscape painting classes, plein air painting classes, and still life painting classes on location in Glacier National Park, in Connecticut, and in his Montana art studio. His current teaching itinerary includes a LANDSCAPE PAINTING WORKSHOP in July 2004 in Connecticut, offered through the Sylvan Gallery of 121 West Main Street, Clinton, Connecticut 06413 (860)669-7278. Nicholas Oberling's workshops cover materials, color, value, composition, and the realistic depiction of skies, trees, light, and water. Class sizes are limited. Each student receives personalized and specific hands-on instruction appropriate to his or her own level of experience. All levels are welcome.

Nicholas Oberling has taught dozens of landscape classes and workshops around the country, including his LANDSCAPE PAINTING WORKSHOP IN CENTRAL PARK in New York City; his SEASCAPE PAINTING WORKSHOP at Point Pleasant, New Jersey; the "MONTANA HIGH" SCHOOL OF ART at Rising Wolf Ranch in East Glacier, Montana; and many more. He has also taught landscape painting at THE VICTOR D'AMICO INSTITUTE OF ART of Amagansett, New York; THE ART CENTER OF NORTHERN NEW JERSEY in New Milford, New Jersey; THE NEW JERSEY ART LEAGUE of Toms River, New Jersey; THE ELROD SCHOOL through the HOCKADAY MUSEUM EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM in Kalispell, Montana; THE BIGFORK ART AND CULTURAL CENTER of Bigfork, Montana; and THE HOLTER MUSEUM OF ART in Helena, Montana.

Nicholas Oberling has been a frequent lecturer on plein air technique, and has conducted talks and demonstrations at the Madison Art Society of Madison, Connecticut; the Salmagundi Club of New York City; the Cornell University Club of New York City; the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center; The Victor D'Amico Institute of Art; The Art Center of Northern New Jersey, The Art League of Nassau County; the National Art League; the Independent Art Society; and others. He has been featured as an invitational "Quick Draw Artist" at the C. M. Russell Museum Auction of Original Western Art; the Montana Land Reliance Biennial Auction; the Garrison (New York) Art Center Fund Raising Auction; the Marcus Daly Mansion Benefit; and the Treasure State Art Show of Hamilton, Montana.
