 | Montana landscape painter Nicholas Oberling has been invited once again to be a Quick Draw artist at this year's 38th Annual C. M. Russell Auction of Original Western Art. He will also be exhibiting his paintings in an exhibition room at the auction, which will take place on March 15th-19th of 2006.
He has been a Quickdraw artist and auction participant in previous years at the Russell Auction, the Treasure State Art Auction, and the Montana Land Reliance Auction. He is a regularly participant in the C. M. Russell Museum's auction of miniature paintings, in the annual Masters in Montana event, and in invitational auctions on behalf the Nature Conservancy, the Yellowstone Art Museum, the Hockaday Museum of Art and the Paris Gibson Square Museum.
He has been Artist in Residence for the Helena National Forest and for Glacier National Park. He has been the recipient of a Visual Arts Fellowship from the Montana Arts Council. He is a founding member of the Montana Painters' Alliance. He is represented by galleries in Massachusetts, Montana, Connecticut, New York, and Indiana. His most recent paintings, a series of studies of Glacier National Park, can currently be seen in a one-man show at Samarah Fine Arts, in Whitefish, Montana.
Nicholas Oberling was educated at Cornell University and studied painting at The Art Students League of New York for a decade. He is married to the artist Jennifer Li. His biography is included in Who's Who in America. |
